For nail colors I generally love purples. However throughout the summer, I was so over it. I wanted bright, spring-y, happy colors. But now that it's fall again and darker colors are back I've fallen in love with my purples all over again!

Essence Peel Off Base Coat

Hi Everyone!! 

I'm super excited to talk about one of my new favourite things! Essence Nail Art Peel Off Base Coat (you can find it by scrolling through the products when you click the link). 

I got this for Christmas from my mom, who picked it up when she was in Germany (because I begged her for it). I know Essence is now selling their products in most Shoppers Drug Marts in Canada, but I haven't seen this product in Canada yet. So keep your eyes peeled. 

This isn't like the regular peel off nail polish that some of you may have had when you were younger. It isn't a nail polish. It is a base coat!

My sister and I tend to share our nail polishes (so you might see manicures with colors that she purchased) but today I'm only going to share the ones that I purchased. I also have a few more polishes at my mom's place because I couldn't take them all back with me. These won't be included here.

Family Time

Hello everyone!

Sorry that I haven't updated in the last week, I was a little distracted with my mom's visit!

She stayed with my sister and me for a few days. It wasn't her first time in Toronto, so she wanted to focus on just spending time with us :)

Here is a little recap of the few days that she was here. We did a little shopping, a little exploring, a little drinking, had some treats, and lots of coffee!

Decluttering My Shower

Moving on. For part two of my de-cluttering series I will be focusing on shower products. Check out part one here. I thought I'd include shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and body wash. I also have a face wash and a razor in my shower but I'm not too worried about having to de-clutter those products ha!

Never Enough Lip Gloss

Hello hello!!!

If you read my previous post (click here), you will know that I'm doing a sort of "de-clutter my life" series (and repurchasing new products, obviously).

So I thought I would start with lip products, because I LOVE lip products. Pretty much I'm addicted to lip gloss. Talk to anyone that went to high school with me. At any given time you could probably find at least 5 different lip products my purse (and maybe one or two in a jacket pocket somewhere).

Recently, when this bright idea to de-clutter hit me, I chucked out all my old, expired, and gross looking products. This was before I thought that I would blog about it, so no picture of everything that got trashed, sorry. But who wants to see a pile of old and gross lip gloss anyway? However, this left me with a very limited collection.

De-cluttering my life - one area at a time

Hi Everyone!!

Lately I've been trying to slowly de-clutter my life. And by that I really mean my apartment. I just wanted to get rid of the things I don't use anymore, because, lets face it, I will be buying new things anyway.

Right after Christmas I started to put some clothes that I no longer wear in a box. I haven't donated the box yet, because every once in a while I still come across a few items that I keep adding to it. I'll keep you guys posted on how that goes.

I've also recently thrown out all most of my old makeup. Make up that I haven't used in forever, or make up that was expired, or just old (some color separation and such) or that I didn't like. It felt good to get rid of the old stuff, but then it left me with a rather limited collection. That means?!?! Perfect opportunity to try out some new stuff! **Yay Shopping**

So I decided to kind of de-clutter various parts of my life (clothes, make-up, random things) and share the "journey" with all of you. I'm going to be continuing this over the next few posts, organizing it by themes (that make sense to me). So one day I will do clothes, then maybe shoes, accessories, etc. I am also going to be dividing the makeup up into categories so it doesn't get too overwhelming.

Hopefully you will all stay tuned for my little adventure! And let me know if there is anything  you would like me to talk about reorganizing/de-cluttering. Maybe you guys will come up with something that I haven't even thought of as needing an overhaul. So please feel free to leave a comment telling me what you'd like read about, or if you are planning to do the same thing, etc. I would LOVE to hear from you!!

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's birthday, so I wanted to take a minute and wish her a very happy birthday!

She will actually be coming to visit us next Sunday, and we will be celebrating then.
 
She decided that she doesn't want us to mail her a gift, but instead do some shopping when she is here and then if she finds something she loves we will get it for her.

I am actually really excited to see her. I got to celebrate my own birthday at home with her and now she is flying here (a week after her birthday) and we get to celebrate together again! It's been a while since I was able to celebrate her birthday with her too. I've always been away at school. So I'm super exciting for this.

My sister and I have already tried to come up with a few little activities to do while she is here. We want to show her some our favourite places and cute little shops and such. Can't wait!

But now I just wanted to send her the very best birthday wishes. I wish I could be there with her today, enjoying a piece of birthday cake with her.

Fave Lip Balms

Hello Everyone!

I enjoyed this snowy day at a Starbucks with a nice dose of caffeine. Admiring the snowfall from behind the warm comforts of large windows overlooking the street.

However when you actually go outside in the winter (which I do, I promise) it can be have less than pleasant effects on your skin, hair, and especially your lips. Well at least that is what it is like for me.

I thought I would share my current manicure with you guys.  For those of you that know me, you know that I have a slight nail polish obsession. For those of you that don't know, you know now!

I love nail polish! And in my opinion I probably own too much, and I always want more. However conveienently, I am currently living with my sister, who also happens to love nail polish, which means our color selection has doubled! Yay!!!

First Official Post and Birthday Recap

Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to finally start blogging again! As I previously mentioned, I took some time to really think about where I wanted this blog to go, and realized that I should be enjoying it. So here we are and I am going to be blogging about the things that interest me at the time, or whatever I happen to this is worth sharing.

So I guess for my first real blog post I just want to talk about my birthday. It was a little while ago, but I think it always fun to recap the joys!

I spent my actual birthday at home (my mom's house) this year for the first time in six years. It was great to celebrate with my mom and my aunt! So on the morning of my birthday I came downstairs to find this:

Lets Get That Sparkle Back

Hello Everyone!

I know, it's been a while since we last chatted. I'm sorry about that, sometimes I can be bad at keeping in touch.

But now here I am and I'm ready to get this blog back on track!

The reason why I sort of stopped blogging for a while was because I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my blog. I didn't have a real theme, and I couldn't come up with a theme that I thought fit me, so I just kind of stopped updating it.

I wasn't enjoying it at the time, because I didn't know what to write about. However, lately I've sort been throwing around some ideas of what I would love to blog to about. I still don't have a "theme" but I think that will be okay. I am just going to write about what I want to write and what I think is interesting at the time. I am open to suggestions and would love to hear feedback if there is anything that you guys are particularly interested to hear my opinions on (if anyone is even reading this and wants to read more...). So that being said, I will mostly likely talk about my day to day highlights (trying to focus on the positive this year) which might include a new lipgloss, a fantastic outfit on a particular day, an out of the ordinary amazing hair day that needs to be documented, perhaps an amazing new recipe, a little home decor, and by home decor I am rearranging of my Ikea furniture.

So stay tuned for some (hopefully) awesome new updates in the next couple of days:)
